A basic buleria rhythm, played here with cajon and palmas in “twelves.” This metronome accents the 12, 3, 6, 8, and 10 beats, which gives it a more “traditional” buleria feel. This is a great place to start if you’re still trying to get your head (and fingers) around counting and playing por buleria.

Modern rhythmic variations on the buleria compas will often move the “six” beat over one place and play the second half of the compas as 7, 8, 10 (instead of 6, 8, 10, as above). Once you’re comfortable with the basic compas, this can be a great way to vary the nuance of your playing.
